After too many years of obsessively consuming everything related to pop culture, too many 3 hour conversations about only TV, too many 500+ comment threads on Facebook arguing over one show, and too many dinner conversations that never strayed from all things pop culture, two cousins started a blogging adventure that would both worry their mothers and confuse their grandparents.
Thus, Fangirly was born. A safe haven for them to pour out their hearts about the things that really matter… to them.
Who are we?
Ellen – I live in Los Angeles and I’m attempting (with moderate success) to break into show biz. I love to watch TV and movies, read about TV and movies, and write about TV and movies. I’m sure you are so shocked based on the content of this blog. I guess I enjoy other things, too. Baking, spending time with my friends and family, going to the beach, and shopping. But they seem a little irrelevant for this forum. Basically, I love taking an activity that most people see as solitary – watching movies and TV – and making it social. I love hearing different opinions on the shows I love and then arguing my (right) opinion on the shows I love. The other thing I love to do is laugh, which is why I dragged Whitney into this crazy venture with me, because nobody makes me laugh harder than Whitney.
Whitney – When I’m not spending way too much time watching TV, or having cryptic TV-themed Facebook conversations with my cousin Ellen, I study Nursing at what shall remain an unspecified university in Utah. (Hint: it’s probably not a school you’ve ever heard of). I, like Ellen, was hooked at a very tender age on all things pop culture. My other interests include Chemistry, reading, and musical theater (as a spectator, not a participant). Please note that all my hobbies fall somewhere on the Nerd Spectrum. I would never admit this to her face, but I’ve looked up to Ellen since we were kids, so I jumped at the chance to write this blog with her. I hope you readers find all this nonsense as interesting as we do.
Hi Ellen and Whitney,
My name is Sadie Phung and I work for a company that powers FOX (http://shop.fox.com/), NBC ( http://www.nbcuniversalstore.com/), HBO ( http://store.hbo.com/) , Lifetime (http://shop.history.com/?v=lifetime) , Syfy (http://www.nbcuniversalstore.com/?v=syfy), USA (http://www.nbcuniversalstore.com/?v=usa), CBS (http://cbsstore.com/) and Bravo ( http://www.shopbybravo.com/) stores.
I read a lot of your recent posts on shows, and top shows/movies to watch for christmas and sick day. I thought those were very interesting and unique for your readers and thought that maybe your readers would be interested in some of the seen on items from the episodes in our stores.
I would like to chat about possible product reviews opportunities and product giveaways. Thank you for your time.

Hey I just found your blog and I think it’s AWESOME :) I was surprised to see that most of your posts were pretty similar to mine and that I’m SO GLAD your fangirling with Danny Castellano and Logan Echolls! AND you watched the Lizzie Bennet diaries… so glad I found your blog… good job!
But that’s a problem you may find with any ceramic plate heater
, so it’s hard to fault it for that.
